GoPro Hero 7 Footage very laggy!

Hi.

 

I purchased the GoPro Hero 7. Whenever i import footage and play it back. It's very laggy! I'm recording in 4k 60 fps. Anybody able to help me? I've seen videos on YouTube and they suggest encoding but isn't that time consuming?

    GoPro files are highly compressed and probably H.265. You need a very beefy machine to play/edit them in Premiere.

    Might want to consider Proxies

    or transcode to a format which is easy to edit.
