GPU Acceleration Crash

2019 Mac Pro with 96GB of RAM, and Pro Vega ii 32GB card....

Constantly freezing up when selecting RED/Alexa mini clips when using any form of GPU acceleratin. Did a chat with support and their answer was basically that "it appears that graphics card isn't on premiere's list of preffered cards so you should buy a new one." 

I have no issues with exporting or really anything else in the program. Only when I double click a clip from the media bin to select in in/out.

curious if anyone has any answers that might be helpful. I've done all the usual clearning of media cache, and everything on my system is up to date outside of updating to Big Sur which I don't believe is being advised at this time.
