GPU Render Error When Exporting

Hello. I was hoping someone can shed some light on this error message I am getting when exporting. The file that is creating the problem is footage shot on a RED camera which was processed with a SLOW MOTION during shooting, the only Premiere effect that was used on this footage is a black & white. The following is the message that I'm getting:

Writing with exporter: H264

Writing to file type: H264

Rendering effect: PR.ADBE Black & White

Rendering at offset: 131.958 seconds

Component: EffectFilter of type GPUVideoFilter

Selector: 9

Error code:  -1609629695

Does anyone have a solution or work-around to this?

Mark

    Hi Mark,

Sorry for the issue. You might be over saturating your GPU bandwidth. What we are sure of:

    • The Black and White effect is a GPU accelerated effect, which requires GPU cycles.
    • If the frame rate in the clip is different from the sequence settings (which you have confirmed), a frame rate change will require GPU cycles.

    Other possibilities for GPU use:

    • RED footage is usually 4K or greater. If your export preset is not at the same scale (4K), you have scaling going on; requiring GPU cycles.
    • Any other processes that affect GPU acceleration you may not have mentioned.

What kind of GPU do you have? If it is a lower powered one, you can move into File > Project Settings > General and change the renderer to software only. You can also install a more powerful GPU or simply use the smart rendering process, which offloads GPU processing to the preview rendering process.

I hope that helps. Let us know what happens and if there's any further assistance we can help you with.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

If it always lists the same point in time, there's a problem there. Go to that point on the timeline, and see what's going on. Sometimes you need to remove the effect applied, shut down, dump the cache/cache database files, reboot, go back to the sequence and add the effect again at that point in the clip.
