Graphics (Essential) Templates - search is still showing no results

Hey folks:

macOS 15.7.3

M4 Max

Premiere Pro v26.0.1 (and all of v25.x versions)

In Premiere Pro, the Essential Graphics panel shows the thumbnails of all of my mogrts, either present in “Local Templates → Local Templates Folder” or in “Libraries →My Library” or “Stock Templates”. I can select a mogrt and place it on my timeline with no issue.

However, typing *any* terms in the search bar yield “no matching search results”.

Workarounds tried:

  • Searching for an exact mogrt namesor even just a letter or two - no matching results.
  • Any combination of toggling Local Templates/Libraries on/off.
  • Deleting all media cache(s), including recently used and all (requiring restart).
  • Restarting Premeire Pro with SHIFT key down, and checking all of the boxes (clear media cache, reset app prefs, 3rd party plugin cache, one time disable, etc.)
  • The “half” trick: Starting Premiere Pro with half of the mogrts removed form the Motion Graphics Templates folder, restaring Premiere Pro, then searching. Error persists. Remove another half of the mogrts from the folder and relaunch, then search. No results.
  • Re-adding the folder (“'/Users/myname/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Motion Graphics Templates'”) in the Graphics Templates Panel.

This problem has persisted for at least a year in shipping and beta versions of v25.x and v26.x and I’ve been working around it by just memorizing the names of the mogrts I need, but with ~250 mogrts (plus folddrs) in this folder, it’s becoming unwieldly.

What else can I try?

Thanks!

    Hi @mkammes

This issue was fixed in 26.1.1x28, please try the beta to see if the Graphics Templates panel is working as expected.

Please try the following for your current version:

    • Close Premiere Pro
    • Locate Documents > Adobe > Premiere Pro > 26.0 > Profile-username
      • metadatacache.prmdc2
      • metadatacache.prmdc2-shm
      • metadatacache.prmd2-wal
    • Delete these files
    • Relaunch Premiere Pro, the files should repopulate.

Let me know if the above does or doesn’t work for you.

    Thanks,
    Theresa

It is working in 26.2.0 Beta (Build 30).
Your steps in the v26.0.1 (Build 3) work as well.

    Thank you so much!
