Hi OP,

My solution to this problem was to click the Spanner icon next to the video length in the Program window and select High Quality Playback so that it is ticked. My footage now no longer turns green and distorts during playback.

This post is now over two years old, but I hope that this brings you some closure, and perhaps closure to other people in the future with the same issue. Hope all is well.

Hi FantasticHaz,

Thanks for sharing what worked for you. Could you let me know what type of source files you're experiencing this issue with? Please also share your Premiere Pro version. I'll try to find a permanent fix for this issue.

Thanks,

Ishan

Please use the free MediaInfo and post a screenshot of the properties of your source media in tree view:

Many users are having issues with VFR. If the file is variable frame rate, use Handbrake to convert to constant frame rate:

Here is a tutorial:

Shutter Encoder may also be used to convert to Constant Frame Rate:

It's a really short bit, can you recreate? If so, try it in a new project file. A drive and clearing cache are the two most likely things for that random green screen that has the effect still in it.

Clear cache by holding down shift when you click the PP icon. That's the new method of doing so.

Don't know how you mean by clicking PP icon. And I don't know how to put it into new project, there are compositions from AE, and few effects

Open a new project.

File > Import and choose the project file.
