GTX 1080 installed PPro and AME won't open [Was Re: Premiere Pro cc2018 won't start anymore after latest update]

Just spent a ton on a GTX 1080 to increase render speeds and now Premiere and Encoder don't work! Need it desperately for a gig in a couple of days. Losing money on 2 fronts!

    A hot GPU will only increase render speeds in the areas of the sequence with GPU accelerated effects like Lumetri, Warp Stabilizer, some others, and significant resizing. Other than that it is not involved.

    And your CPU needs to have 8 or more cores above probably 3.5Ghz with 48Gb RAM or more to really use that 1080.

    It's always a balancing act. And exports are more a CPU than GPU thing.

    That said, I hope when you get this sorted  it flies!

    Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.
