H.264 export restarts MacBook Pro

I know this is an older thread, but the issue is still persisting for me where any kind of H.264 export (from Premiere directly or from Media Encoder) results in my MacBook Pro (M1 Max chip) restarting itself.  I'm using Premiere Pro v. 24.0.3 (Build 2) and Apple OS Ventura 13.6.2.

I might try upgrading the Apple OS to Sonoma 14.2.1 and then all of the CC apps as applicable.  But this has been going on for MONTHS now and very annoying and frustrating.  My workaround has been to edit on the M1 machine, and then move the project to an older Intel-based MacBook Pro to do the exporting.

Hi there!

Sorry about the issue. Can you let us know if this happens after updating the OS as well? Do you have any third-party effects?

Do you get any error codes or messages when it restarts?

Let us know.

Thanks,

^KR

Hi - No, it still happened after upgrading to Apple OS 14.2.1.  No third party effects or anything special.  I was using a very short test video with some video and audio fades.  It started the export fine in Media Encoder, but then maybe 75% of the way through, the computer just restarts itself.  No error message, nothing.  I AM seeing a red flag message in Premiere when I reopen it about the previous project not being closed correctly or something.

Here's a dropBox link to the test files and project I was using:

I've branched this to a new thread and renamed the title, since your issue is different from the original thread.
