H.265 HEVC from Autel Evo Drone NOT playing smooth at ALL

Trying to avoid Proxies here as I edit and shoot H.265 almost every day. In both After Effects and Premiere, it's next to impossible to edit the footage because I can not for the life of me play it smooth. My computer is a beast too...I just don't get it. I render at about 1 frame per second in after effects, and Premiere is just un-editable. It makes it literally a 20 times longer process than my Sony A7 III's 4K footage.
