Hi Vishal Darji,

Are you experiencing performance issues specifically with playback or while interacting with the UI as well? Do you have multiple clips stacked in the timeline or any other effects applied to the clips? Also, let us know the version of Pr you are using & the type of storage that you are using for the media.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Its basically when you import and try to watch from thumbnail and soemtimes in timeline too and yeah stacked soemtimes  NO UI issue tho  but same with resolve same storge device same footage resolve as i import it  shows me i can select the shot and able to see all the footage its so easy premeir takes year to show me thumbnai or when i drag to timeline it does not appear properly and choked my ram and crash whole system and i have to reboot eeverything everytrime (but issue does not appear when footage is in mezzanine codec or in proxy ) so its clearly h.264 issue

H.264 4K 120 fps media can be quite intensive to process. If you are working from any external/network drive? Have you tried moving the media to an internal drive or a faster SSD to see if it makes any difference? Also, do you have enough storage space for the cache files? For testing purposes, please navigate to Edit > Preferences > Media Analysis & Transcription & disable the options Analyze all imported media to search for visuals or audio & Automatically transcribe clips. Let us know if it helps improve the performance.

Thanks,

Sumeet

The problem is that Premiere Pro and Resolve both utilize the GPU differently.

Second, the GeForce RTX 4000 (Ada) series never supported 4:2:2 hardware decoding at all; only the newer 5000 (Blackwell) series GPUs do. This means that on your PC all decoding went directly to the CPU, in software-only decoding mode, whether in Premiere Pro or Resolve. It boils down to the fact that Resolve offers some rendering features which are accelerated by the GPU whereas Adobe still doesn't yet support hardware rendering of those features.

i mean we dont need genrative and ai features just fix decoding h.264 like other NLE  we dont need AI now just fox basics first like davinci resolve i dont know what they did but they know what they are doing

Hi,

Thanks for the post. You have a question about comparing performance with the same H.264 4K 4:2:2 120fps footage. That footage sounds pretty intense. Which camera were you using? Are you on macOS or Windows? Can you tell us specifics about your hardware setup? Let the community know, so we can help you better. Sorry for the hassle.

Thanks,
Kevin
