Question

H265 to H264 still choppy

Hello,

I had got this problem with iPhone X videos and HEVC codec at Premiere Pro 12.1. Video files were choppy and it was impossible to edit and even to play anything.

Common solution is just to convert H265 to H264. But this doesn't work for me. I used Media Encoder for converting. The original video is H265, 60 fps. I tried all the output formats (29,9 fps, 30 fps, 60 fps as well). But after converting to H264 my videos still crash.

Also, I can not change the settings on my iPhone. Cause I use DJI Osmo Mobile 3 to shoot videos and it makes only H265, despite all my preferences. Other videos are fine in Adobe Premiere.

How should I convert it properly with Media Encoder? Or how can I re-install my HVEC codec at Premiere?

Thanks for your help!

videos shot on an iphone are variable frame rate (vfr).  Use handbrale to convert to constant frame rate (cfr)

Convert to GoPro CineForm or Apple ProRes instead of yet another long-GOP codec. 🙂
