Hardware encoding greyed out. Many thanks for any help.

I have an intel i9 10940x CPU and a 8gb Nvidia Quadro p4000 GPU yet I can't utilise hardware encoding...

GPU acceleration and GPU encoding and decoding are not the same thing. Not all GPUs support hardware encoding and decoding. The video below might be helpful.

Do you have a need for the Quadro? You might consider an RTX if not.

what version of premiere are you working with?  If it's the latest, try reverting to an earlier version and see if that helps.  If it's not the latest, try updating...

Yes I've updated all drivers. Very new PC, literally just got today and intended for editing. Do you have any other idea why I would be having this issue?

Have you turned on the feature in the Pref.

Did you update the driver from Nvidia's website?

Error as above.

 

As mentioned in the description I have a top of the range CPU and GPU that are above the reccomended requirements for PP
