Hardware encoding Macbook pro i9

Hi all,

I'm trying to enable hardware encoding when exporting. I've run a few tests and I seem to repeatedly get the error "Your system's hardware does not support hardware acceleration for the current settings"

Does anyone know how to rectify this? I've tried with various sequence settings etc. A couple of times I have got the option to click but then in the summary it stills says "software enabled"?

Thanks in advance,

Lawrie

Update on this... I've since found out through research and more tests that hardware accelerated exports are actually limited to 1 pass VBR. This does in fact work. 2 pass VBR and CBR are not supported though which is not obvious at all if you haven't spent about 5 hours looking into it.

I still can't get mine to work. What settings did you use? I can create a new thread if needed but I thought it might be better to keep these questions in the same place.

I have the same CPU: Intel® Core™ i9-8950HK Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.80 GHz) Product Specifications

My preset is basically "VR Monoscopic Match Source Stereo Audio"

5760x2880 (1.0), 29.97 fps, Progressive, VBR, 1 pass, Target 76.8 Mbps, Max 96.00 Mbps AAC, 256 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo

Instead of changing my settings to enable hardware or highlighting fields that are preventing hardware from being selected, it's popping up a dialog that says "Your system's hardware does not support hardware acceleration for the current settings".

    My system is:

    MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018)

    CPU 2.9 GHz Intel Code i9 (8950HK)

    Memory 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

Graphics Radeon Pro 560X 4096 MB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

    Hi there,

Have a look above. You have to use 1 pass VBR. Hardware encoding is limited to that so your preset wont work with it.

Adobe has been quite specific about the hardware supported for hardware encoding.

You may find this thread helpful in helping you answer your question.

Could you give us the specifications of your Macbook, including the GPU used?

Also, what version of Pr are you using?

    Cheers,

    Seb
