Question

Has Adobe EVER contacted you with a workaround following a crash report?

I’m genuinely curious to get a sense a sense of this. Let me be clear, this post is not about troubleshooting what’s causing the crashes.

For weeks now I’ve been triggering multiple crash reports a day, sometimes up to a dozen. I’m typing the same thing into the “Please tell us what led to this error” field and providing my email address every time.

I would expect that when you receive 100+ crash reports from the same person with the same problem, you might make good on that statement “Adobe may contact me for fixes and workarounds”

But I’ve heard nothing. That’s why I want to know, has anyone in this community EVER been contacted by Adobe with a workaround, after submitting one of these forms?

    @braydon,

    It is frustrating to anticipate getting a reply, and it never happening.

    But, yes, I have received a response from such a report. It is not common.

    What happens more often is when you also post about the problem here in the forum, as a bug or question. The support staff/programmers can search that database for your email and link your forum report to the information they received from the crash report.

    I believe this can also happen when you contact support and ar einvolved in troubleshooting there.

    I almost always put in my email address for those reasons, even if I put in no comment. When I have repeated crashes, I copy the response and modify it if I am learning anything about the context. But I post a bug report here and refer to having submitted a crash report.

    Those who have received a reply likely aren’t reading this forum.

    I wouldn’t anticipate receiving a reply.
