Has "Frame substitution recursion attempt aborting after multiple attempts on file" been solved yet?

I keep searching and see no solution to the "Frame substitution recursion attempt aborting after multiple attempts on file" error I keep getting. There's one post that recommends doing a render and replace, but I can't do that for 6 hours of footage.

Any suggestions folks? This is pretty annoying. Just trying to edit XAVC footage shot on a C70.
