Question

have you lost your custom keyboard after updating to Premiere CC2020?

so just like when I updated to Premiere 2019, my custom keyboard is no longer available.  First tried the synch settings from the Premiere menu without any luck.  Here's what I did (I'm on the mac so your mileage may vary on the PC).  Went in to Premiere Pro:  Keyboard shortcuts .   Did a save as with an arbitrary name.  Quit Premiere, did a finder search for that name and then copied my .kys file from the 2019 version (having searched for the previous custom name) and moved it to the new location for 2020.     Seems to have worked fine.  Now if I could only get all of my workspaces over...

I just helped mgrenadier get his workspaces back, which did come over for me, but now I see my keyboard shortcuts were incorrect. Somewhere along the line, my PP created a new folder in user\documents, instead of saving my KBSC to 'Profile-Myer\Win' the new folder was Profile-CreativeCloud. I think this happened when I was trying to sync, which I've never used a returned file, and have no indication on CC that I have any files saved?? But from that point on, all my periodic keyboard shortcut saves were placed in this new Profile-CC... folder.

With cc2020, and the folder 14.0 rather than 13.0, I have no Profile-CreativeCloud folder, only the Profile-Myer. Since I had checked the copy user prefs and settings during the upgrade it brought over the Win folder from 13.0\myer to 14.0\myer but the more recent shortcut files as noted were not in that folder. So, why did PP or Creative Cloud create that folder I never wanted!

So, I simply copied the files from the strange local Creative Cloud folder and all is well. Fortunatly I noticed the files going in there at some point and had added them to my backups.

PS: (I hope that was clear <sigh>) 🙂

Hey M,

Can you try going to the previous version, sync settings, then close. Open the new version, then sync settings once more. What happens? I think I heard Ann give this tip. I just updated and didn't test. I can do an uninstall reinstall test a bit later. Can anyone else test?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hey Kevin, I just did a sync but no result on that matter. Keyboard Shortcuts still completely empty. It is like downloading an app with ZERO Shortcuts. See screenshot.

Have something similar. After downloading Premiere CC 2020 I opened it and noted ther are no shortcuts at all! Dunno what to do. I am using Windows 10.
