Question

hdv-files lost

When trying to open an older project, I notice that linking to all mpeg2 files (HDV) is no longer possible in Premiere Pro CC.

The files were captured by a Sony HDV camera and have no extensions, which was never a problem.

Interesting: On our MacPro (Mojave) the files are shown with a preview window in the Finder, so the system recognizes them.

Our Macbook Pro (also Mojave) shows black preview windows with green "Exec" lettering and the file info "executable Unix file".

The same on our old MacPro (El Capitan).

Interesting: if I manually attach the extension ".mov", the files will be recognized and can be linked again individually (but not without problems concerning length).

I fear that the assignment of the ProVideoFormats is not correct.

Who has similar problems or a solution to the problem?

I can still import hdv files in Pr on a mac.

Set extension to m2t or mpeg.
