Hello,
Sorry I'm a bit late on this one, but in case it happens again:
First we fixed some crashes which happened in BRAW Studio 3.1.4. The crashes you experienced should be fixed now.
The "Source Settings" is an effect attached to a RAW kind of plugin, to apply parameters (like White balance, exposure, etc..) when decoding the footage. So like R3DRAW has its R3D Source Settings, BRAW needs also a Source Settings effect on it, and is automatically added to an imported clip.
As mentioned in other comments, there are 2 different plugins to import BRAW files in Premiere Pro : the Blackmagic RAW plugin and BRAW Studio (article with differences here). When you start a project with one plugin, your imported BRAW Project Items will have a "Source Settings" effect attached to it. As each plugin has its own effect, if you switch plugins at the middle of a project, there will be issues because of this "Source Settings" effect which can't be converted automatically by Premiere Pro. That's why we implemented 2 tools in the BRAW Studio panel to convert your project from one plugin to another in both ways.
Blackmagic RAW Plugin -> Autokroma BRAW Studio Plugin
- Install BRAW Studio and say "Yes" when it asks if you want to uninstall the Blackmagic RAW Plugin.
- Open an empty project, open the BRAW Studio Panel (top menu -> window -> extensions)
- Go to the Toolbox Tab and convert your project by using the "Convert Project from BMD to BRAW Studio" tool
Autokroma BRAW Studio Plugin -> Blackmagic RAW Plugin
- Let BRAW Studio installed, and open the BRAW Studio Panel (top menu -> window -> extensions)
- Go to the Toolbox Tab and convert your project by using the "Convert Project from BRAW Studio to BMD" tool
- Uninstall BRAW Studio (uninstaller can be found in the folder when downloading BRAW Studio)
- Install the Blackmagic RAW Plugin
Best,
Nicolas from Autokroma
