Help editing AVCHD in Premiere Pro on Mac

I wanted to start a new thread but cannot figure out how.

OK, my workflow was also the same AVCHD, transcoded to Apple Prores in FCP 7. Updated my OS on my mac and suddenly FCP 7 doesn't work, upgraded to X and it's a — consumer program. Got Premier and love it, it will take all my previous Apple ProRes files BUT when I shoot new stuff in the AVCHD format, I'm having issues.

Files play fine/look good but I have no audio, like no audio track. I am sure that original files have audio.

I have tried:

-imported through media browser, ingested and not ingested,

-file structures in tact

-tried converting to P2 and DNxHD and had same no audio issue, with DNxHD - there is an audio track on the sequence but it doesn’t move at all - there is no audio

-tried converting to .H264 as well and audio not working

-you cannot convert MTS files to prores which is the only way I know to get AVCHD files into Premier. I would transcode them to Apple ProRes through FCP X but I returned it to get my $300 back and I would really rather not buy it again!

I found various support forum's and many suggested uninstalling and reinstalling my OS and/or Premier which I am very reluctant to do as I just installed all of it for the first time. https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/audio-video-glitches-avchd.html

Troubleshoot AVCHD audio and video glitches in Premiere Pro CS6

I tried everything here except Prelude as I do not have any idea what it is. It's so frustrating because the video plays and looks great, no problem! but the audio is just literally not there.

Help!

You left out your computer specs.

AVCHD is highly compressed, transcoding to prores is your best bet especially with CS6.

    Is not Compressor an option?

Compressor won't accept .MTS or avchd(full file) files
