Help plz! Audio distortion when imported

I recently got Premiere to edit video clips. It was working perfectly fine until when I imported new AVI files, the audio sounds slow and something that would come from demonic sounds of a horror movie... The clips' audio plays normally and fine on VLC and Windows Media Player though.

Does anyone know what the problem and solution is?
