Help with FX Grayed out

Somehow I toggeled off my effects and I dont know how to turn them back on. I can add any effects to any clip in my timeline. Can someone advise how to get my effects working again ?

Gray means no effect whatsoever has been applied.

If the effect fails to show in the FX badge (wrench timeline)
