Question
HEVC Files Won't Import
Having trouble importing your HEVC files?
HEVC files are currently supported for import, so the first step I would take is to find out why they are not importing into your machine.
- HEVC files are fully supported in versions 12.0.1 and later with the .mov and .mp4 extension
- Premiere Pro and Media Encoder must both be updated to 12.0.1 or later.
- Make sure to be running macOS 10.13 and greater on Mac and 1809 above on Windows 10.
- If you are running a trial version on the Windows platform then the CPU needs to be 6th Gen and greater for 8 bit media & 7the Gen greater for 10 Bit HEVC.
- Manually Delete all Media Cache.
- Windows users should update the Intel Display Card drivers if the computer system has more than one display Card.
- If there is more than one display card, then update their respective display card drivers, as well.
- If the HEVC is 12 bit, 422, or 444 HEVC files and you cannot import, ensure that that the HEVC codec is installed.
- Windows : Users\Public\Documents\AdobeinstalledCodecs
- Mac : Users\Shared\ AdobeinstalledCodecs
If you still can't import these files even to transcode them in Media Encoder, file a bug here.
