HEVC from Andriod mobiles don't play smoothly

Samsung S25 video taken in HEVC ( an oversight ) When imported into Prem Pro and rendered, it does not play smoothly. Jumps, or freezes,but sound ok

Any suggestions?

Your system is way under powered and ancient.

It does not have the capacity to run Hvec properly.

Best solution is to convert files to an easy editable codec.

Stop rubbing it in Ann! I know it’s old,

As mentioned (complainingly) several times, I am still somewhat short of enough money to buy a super new PC with a 5080 / 5090 GPU because those horrid AI farms have caused both a shortage, and a massive increase in the price of components!

I have a quote of around £4000 GBP for a new PC and that has a 32GB RAM option and a 4TB ssd/hdd so I STILL need to spend more for what I want.

I did try converting but that was not much better.

Thanks anyway to all of you who suggested, If/When Santa Clause brings a new PC, I will let you all know!

What did you convert to? Handbrake only outputs delivery codecs, so if you converted to H.264 or HEVC you would have landed back where you started. That would explain why it made little difference.

Try exporting to a mezzanine format instead, such as Apple ProRes, Avid DNx, or GoPro CineForm. Adobe Media Encoder will do this, and you already have it.
