Hide a date stamp in a video

I did something daft, I did a timelapse video, lovely! Did some editing, then, Eeeeeek, what's that?

Arrgh, I changed the battery in the GoPro clone and it reset the DO NOT SHOW THE DATE ON SCREEN.

To, yes please I want that date showing as a distraction.

Anyway, ranting over, does anyone know of a method (other than crop 5% off the top, not perfect) whereby I can mask the date showing in white text, the issue is, the background does change, scenery, mostly sky, but some trees etc.

Any thoughts?

I'm sorry to hear about this. If you have access to After Effects, please try using the Content Aware Fill feature (https://adobe.ly/4g8X26F). It might help you with this issue.
