Horrible glitches in Premiere Pro 2018!!!! HELP!

ADOBE!!!! HELP!!!!  THIS IS KILLING ME!!!!

I've been using Premiere 2018 for a little while now, but suddenly EVERYTHING I'm doing has these crazy glitches.

Visible in both playback and exports. They look like the old tape dropouts - horizontal offsets, color shifts and black lines.

I've seen a couple other threads on this, but they won't let me post. (??)

I've updated to build 12.1.1, but it does not seem to help.

It happens both on my Trashcan Mac and on my iMac.

What do I do??? I have multiple projects dead in the water. Since your apps aren't backwards compatible, I can't even roll back to the 2017 version.

    In a project that is exhibiting this problem, go to File > Project Settings > General and set the Renderer to Software Only as a test and see if the problem is still there.

    Hi Meg,

    I did a 2-pass VBR render earlier today using Software Only that had the glitches, just did a 1-pass VBR which appears to be clean.

    I will test Metal vs Open CL as well and report back.

    One of my projects gave me a good render using Software only, and after making this switch, it ALSO gave me good renders using hardware acceleration.

    The other project continued to give faulty renders in either mode.
