It takes forever to drag a small clip to the front of my sequence when I have a lot of footage how can I reduce this time?

Select the clip you want to move.

Once selected, type Shift+Forward Delete to ripple delete the clip and copy it.

Press the Home key to move the playhead to the start of the timeline.

Position the playhead where you want to place the clip you just cut and copied, then type Shift + Command (Control) + V to Insert Paste the clip.

    or...

Select the Clip(s) you want to move.

Use the Lift or Extract Icon in the Program Monitor (or the respective shortcut keys.)

Relocate Play head to the new position  ( Home would get you to the Start of the Sequence)

Target your Track then CTRL-V (Paste)
