How do I drag a clip from one timeline to another without...

When I have 2 timeline windows open and I drag an audio clip from one timeline to the other, it COPIES the clip, and then appears on both timelines after the drop. How can I adjust it so when I drag a clip from one timeline to the other, it no longer appears in the original timeline window?
----

Also, when I drag a clip from one timeline window to another, after I make the drop, if I were to press play, by default it will automatically play the timeline on the original timeline window. How can I set it up to automatically switch to the new timeline window after the drop has been made?

Thanks!

You would have to cut the clip section from the first timeline.

As to why it works this way? A very typical working procedure for doing selects is "pancake" editing, where you have two stacked timeline panels. Select a section of the upper, drag/drop to lower. As you are actually working from the upper one, you want to continue playback of the upper timeline to find the next bit you want to grab.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...
