Question

How do I get two things to be the same height?

But also I can't make two things line up, which I can do in Microsoft Paint. And that's just bewildering to me.

Sure you can: just make a new post for this. (attach some screenshot on how you want them).

Dont forget to mention Premiere's version and build.

To ensure two elements (such as videos or images) are the same height in Premiere Pro, the easiest method is to add them to a graphic clip and use the Properties panel, which includes precise height and width controls (in pixels) as well as alignment tools.

Steps for Graphics:

  1. Add the first video or image to a graphic by navigating to Graphics and Titles > New Layer > From File.
  2. Once the graphic clip is created, drag other clips directly from the Project panel into the Properties panel of the graphic.

This method is ideal for images but less suited for videos because graphic clips do not support time-based editing and linked audio.

Steps for Video (Alternative Workflow):

  1. Create a sequence with the desired height (or you can do this by dragging a clip with the correct height onto the New Item button).
  2. Drag other clips into this new sequence and select all of them.
  3. Use the Fit to Frame option in the Properties panel to standardize the heights.
  4. Copy and paste these adjusted clips back into your main sequence.

Using this approach ensures all clips maintain consistent heights while working within your main timeline.
