How do I merge files using Del key?

I can't merge the files on the timeline using a hotkey . The unnecessary tracks are locked. What's the problem ?🙄

I think you're using the wrong terminology here. You're not trying to merge any clips. You're trying to, I'm guessing, delete the empty space?

You need to Ripple delete the empty space or Ripple trim the clips to fill the gap. Using the Delete key will only delete the selected clip or delete what is between the in and out points and leave a gap behind. You need to Ripple delete.

Is the audio on the locked track linked to the video?

Is there any audio on any tracks at the gap?
