How do I render a video in portrait mode?

I tried the normal settings I use when recording a standard HD video, using H264 and all that. But when I take the default settings for an HD video but then swap around the resolution to be 1080x1920 instead of 1920x1080, the video doesn't render. The video won't show up at all in my media viewer, like it's not there. I'm not sure if there's some kind of settings I should be using for rendering a portrait-framed video.

Ah, the video rendered fine. It turns out that Windows Media Viewer can't view videos in the format I used. I uploaded it to YouTube as a test and it worked fine.

Is your sequence set for portrait mode? Just curious.

Try this.  It's one of the best media players out there.
