How do you make a specific sound disappear ?

Hi.

What I mean by "specific sound" is, for example, me coughing, and I want it to scram ! Another question whose answer must be super easy, I'm sure...

If someone could answer, I'd appreciate it very much !

If you enlarge the audio track vertically and horizontally you can use the audio waveforms to quickly find the beginning and end of the cough.

Use the razor tool to cut it out and replace it with some clean atmos from elsewhere in the take.

Oh, okay. Well, that's what I'm already doing. I was hoping that there'd be a faster... magical way. Thanks !

If you have Adobe Audition, you can edit your audio there and use something called a Spot Healing Brush to take out that specific spectral frequency (View > Show Spectral Frequency Display). You can find more info on how to do that here, under "Select Artifacts and repair them Automatically"
