How is possible that after YEARS of developing Adobe Pr still failing on such important things?

Guys how is possible with a 128gb ram macbook pro and premiere playback still terrible? Or i still have to use a gamma compensation to match what im editing with the export? like seriously.. Im a loyal customer since years and years, but im getting tired of dealing with bugs all the time, this editor job is already very frustrating at times, and WE the customers need a smooth workflow. Is insane that this bugs still here after years for the prices that we pay monthly. again INSANE.

First, the “gamma comp thing” is due to a stupid decision by Apple, using a completely bogus display transform for Rec.709 video. Not used by anyone else, never used by anyone else, and not part of the extensively documented Rec.709 specs.

And in the 25.x and 26.x versions with the vastly more potent color managment panel, you can set the Program monitor to gamma 1.96 if you want to. Feel free to do so! No LUT used any more on export.

Of course, all PCs, Androids, most TVs, and all broadcast compliant systems are gonna ‘see’ your file as a dark over-saturated thing, but hey, “we” can’t fix what Apple broke.

As to playback ... what’s your media, and the specs for the laptop? Then ‘we’ can probably offer advice.
