Well I have simple pngs and jpgs that im simply dragging in the program so they appear right in the middle (horizontally and vertically) , but when i drag them a bit higher they are not in the horizontal middle anymore, which i need to do.. the essential graphics panel as well as the effect controlls are completely blank.. what can i do?

Try enabling Snap in Program Monitor.  You'll find this option toward the bottom of the Settings pop-up menu in the Program panel.  This will make nudging a source footage time up in the Program panel much easier.

Another way to nudge a source footage item up in the Program panel is to select the Clip Boundary in the Timeline and then decrease the Y Position Value in the Effect Controls panel.  Click and drag the value left or down to decrease or click to turn the value into a text field.   Note:  the Clip Boundary must be selected in the Timeline.

Hi @Hi_Soeren ! 🙂

I suggest you use "Snap in Program Monitor". Hold down the cmd/ctrl key while you are dragging the media towards the center. You can also turn snapping on all the time by enabling it through the wrench button under the Program Monitor.

Hope it helps!
