How to create a 1980s-like transitions in Premiere Pro or After Effects?

Hello.

I want to create a transitions like a 1980 vision mixer (e.q Ampex ADO,Grass Valley GVG-300)default transitions.A wipes with borders,hard/soft edges,replication,wave modulation effect.Have anyone a plugin to do this.Autodesk Softimage(discontinued in 2015) compositing module had a SmpteWipe effect,but i didn't find analog in Adobe software.

maybe this inspires you to use it and so you don't have to use any plug in!

These are what I used to call cve's short for cheesy video effects (as opposed to dve's - digital video effects).

you might also try fxfactory.  All sorts of things there

Hey you are right! 

maybe those effects can also be replicated with shape layers. As we can use one shape with a repeater. The shape can be any form. And by using it as a mask you can apply the form  to video Layer too.

Hey , 

 

crazy ! 

i guess you will need some AEscripts transition script or 

you replicate this by hand ! 

either with compound effects 

or you can do some of this stuff with a ramp effect and 

timedisplacement. 

but out of the box maybe Saphire effects ..... 

 

There are tons of transition effects on AEscripts

maybe there is something you like. 

Most of these scripts provide a trial ....
