how to do masking accurately

I do a lot of masking, carefully following the outline of an object I want to superimpose onto a different background, or change the colour of, etc, but it's very difficult to control the mouse accurately. You end up with a really aching hand because you are holding the mouse so tightly as you try to move a mask point 0.1 of a millimetre. Is there some way to move the mask point more easily and accurately using a tool with much bigger movements?

To create more accurate masks in Adobe Premiere Pro, try the following tips:

  • Zoom in on the Program Monitor: Increasing the zoom level helps with precision when placing and adjusting mask points. Use the zoom dropdown at the bottom of the Program Monitor or scroll with your mouse wheel.
  • Use arrow keys for fine adjustments: After selecting one or more mask points (vertices), use the arrow keys to move them one pixel at a time. Hold Shift while pressing an arrow key to move points in 5-pixel increments.
