Question

How to enlarge the tracks for editing

There is something I am doing when I do a video that shows more "time" on the tracks and shrinks my audio/video.   It doesn't affect my video at all.  But when I am dragging and dropping graphics etc, it's so small from left to right.

In better effort to explain myself, is it possible to have the track timeline only show me let's say 3 minutes at a time and not 10 minutes?  That way the tracks/bars themselves are longer and easuer for me to edit.

Am I making sense?  I have tried shrinking the window the tracks are in but it doesn't do anything.

Thanks!

Sounds like you want to zoom in while working in the Timeline tab.  There are several ways to do this.

Timeline Zoom In is the = (equals) key.

Timeline Zoom Out is the - (minus) key.

You might also find Zoom to Sequence helpful, which is the \ (backslash) key.

Or use the Zoom Tool (regular click Zooms In, opt/alt click Zooms Out).

Or you can use the left or right edges of the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the Timeline panel (dragging the edges closer together Zooms In while dragging the edges farther apart Zooms Out).  You can also hover over the horizontal scroll bar and use control (win)/command (mac) scroll wheel to Zoom In or Zoom Out.

The \ key on the English keyboard toggles between showing the full sequence and the last zoomed setting.

The + and - keys zoom in and out.
