How To Fix Stuttering Choppy Lag Playback

Have just installed Premiere Pro and my playback is stuttering i.e. moving forward and backward rapidly, both video and audio.

I've tried every fix on YouTube. If you have any idea what this could be, please help!

Thanks to another post that I went to here....the fix was this simple.

Go into Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware....ensure that it's the right default input and output.
