how to insertClip in UXP plugin

Question

messing around trying to build a plugin that will simplify the audio tracks after I simplify my multicam sequences (moving everything back from their individual tracks to something semblencing a timeline annoying haha). I'm messing around with premiere and uxp dev stuff and I can't figure out what tools I have to manipulate clips on the timeline.

ideally the simplify sequence tool could do this but for whatever reason it only does the video. in the meantime it's fun to learn UXP stuff

I don't think APIs exist in UXP yet to add clips to timeline, see this post:

UXP in Premiere Pro is in beta and very very new so lots of APIs haven't been built yet. If you need a production panel today or in the near future, you're going to need to build it in CEP. But definitely let Adobe know what features you need in UXP to make sure they get added. This forum seems to be the best one for Premiere Pro UXP:
