how to loop

In PP6, I am unable to loop.  the loop icon is not in the group.  When I click the + and choose to add loop it doesn't appear.

I seek the online help and get hundreds of specialized uses, but not the most basic simple thing as to why I can't get it where I want to use it.

Why PP couldn't include a relevant manual with the program instead of having to search through so much unrelated stuff, and then seek my password, sign in and find and post to the right forum is beyond my understanding.

Someone please solve the simple problem.

Since that didn't work, I uninstalled and reinstalled as suggested, to no avail.  Then I noticed that when I clicked on a button to add, it didn't highlight or anything, so I thought the problem was why it didn't select.  Then I thought again maybe I could drag it to the row of buttons.  At first I got a circle x indicating it couldn't be done, and I remembered that I tried this before and it didn't work.  But then I tried again below all the others, and it appeared.  Then I clicked OK and it was in the row of buttons and usable. I'm surprised that no one could tell me how to do this simple thing that didn't come up when I searched for the online help and found how do all kinds of complex things but no how to actually get the button there.

The Help does tell you how to add:

Customizing the monitor panel button bar (CS6)

Add buttons to the button bar by dragging them from the button editor.

When I click on PP with shift alt depressed, I get the window in attachment.  Choosing OK doesn't open PP.

I thought I already indicated that I went there and chose the button, OK'd and it doesn't appear.  Question is why. Am I the only one left satisfied with PP6.  I need no more capability other than it working as it is supposed to.

    Try restarting computer,

    Make backup of all presets,

hold down shift+alt while opening Premiere.

See if that will get you your button back.

    Otherwise re-install.
