How to overlay a script on table read footage?

I recently shot a video of a friend and I doing a table read of one of my early scripts. I was hoping to have the script, or at very least the lines on the bottom of the screen while we read it so people could follow along. I've already attempted to screenshot every page of the pdf (8 pages), but that didn't look good in preview, and I tried adding scrolling text but upon selecting File>New>Legacy Text, Adobe crashes completely. Does anyone have any ideas? I was hoping to have this video up by Saturday around noon.
