Premiere pro shows log footage with a REC709 conversion, and clips I have already graded on DV appear darker than what they really are. This didn’t happen with previous versions of the program. How can I revert this? I have searched before for answers on the internet, but it didn’t solve the issue.
You have a level of control of the color management that has never been in Premiere before. But most users don’t really understand all the possibilities and the implications of each option.
If you don’t want Premiere to do anything with a clip, you simply go into the Color Management Panel still on the Lumetri Panel’s Settings tab … (I think, I do so much in the public beta and it’s changed there ...) and select the option up top to not color manage the clip.
