How to recenter Anchor Points in Essential Graphics

Question

I often move anchor points when working with essential graphics. I have issues re-centering the anchor points afterward.

You can see my gif below:

The essential graphic on the LEFT---I can drag the anchor point, giving me the red alignment lines to recenter the anchor point.

For the essential graphic on the RIGHT---I cannot see red alignment lines.

What is the difference with the graphic on the RIGHT, and why don't I get the red alignment lines? How do I recenter the Anchor point?

Could it be that you scaled the text on the right? What if you put the scale back to 100 and use the font size slider instead?
