Question

How to remove indoor gym noise in premiere pro?

I recorded a volleyball practice with a GoPro 9 in a small indoor gym that fits only one basketball size court. The dialogue and ball hitting can be reduced well with DEHUMMER, but the gym reverb sound is very noticeable. Using DENOISE changes the entire audio to something weird and it emphasizes ball hitting sounds and makes it sound weird. So DENOISE is not a suitable solution in my opinion.

Is there a way to remove that noisy ambience sound that is captured by a GoPro in a small indoor gym?

I've attached a sample sound clip in .MP4 format. Blank video with audio. Thanks for your help.

  • You could try the essential sound panel.

I am unsure how to properly manipulate the ESSENTIAL SOUND panel to directly affect the "noisy gym ambience". Any tips on how to target it using the ESSENTIAL SOUND panel?

HI @AlvinM,

You might try a test with Premiere Pro Beta's "Enhance Speech." It's a one button easy way to get what you are looking for. Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks,
Kevin
