How to Responsively Edit Video Mockups

Hi everyone!

 

I have a video mockup here which I downloaded from Pexels. I was wondering how I can insert my design which will response to the change in motion and size of the mockup.

 

I've created a mask in the video mockup and inserted my design underneath as a Graphic layer. But what happens is that the size of the mask stays the same as the video plays, and the design doesn't enlarge either to correspond to the shape of the mask. I'm still fiddling around with the Responsive Design features under Essential Graphics, but how can I incorporate those features for the mask too?

 

I've tried looking it up everywhere on the internet, but there doens't seem to be a comprehensive tutorial anywhere about editing video mockups like this. Any tips/advice/instructions/suggestions will be very much appreciated.

    This kind of work is better suited to After Effects, which has more robust tools for tracking.

    To do it in Premiere, I would recommend these steps:

    1. Stabilize the footage: Add the Warp Stabilizer effect to your footage and set Result to No Motion. For footage with minimal movement like this, set Method to Position, Scale, Rotation or Perspective.
    2. Nest the clip: Go to Clip > Nest.
    3. Key out the white: Add the Ultra Key effect to your nested sequence. Set the Key Color to the white of the screen using the color picker. Add a mask to restrict the key to the screen area. This will also key out the hand.
    4. Add your design: Move your nested sequence to Track 2 and add your design to Track 1. Resize your design to match the screen size.

    Your advice works perfectly, and it was very clear and easy to follow along too. I can see what you mean about the tracking capabilities in Premiere Pro (it's not the most sophisticated), so I'll be sure to try After Effects next time. The search terms definitely made it a lot easier for me to learn and understand the concepts and features, so really thank you so much~
