Question

How to use "Close Gap" function with locked layers above.

Is it possible to use the "Close Gap" Function with locked layers above?

I can't seem to get it working. It would seem since the layers are locked above--I should be able to close the gap below.

Anyone know of a way to make this work?

All depends on how you timeline is build.

Post screenshot of timeline and gap you want to delete.

If you can ripple delete with locked track you can close gap also.

Here is the most basic use case. I created a new blank timeline added three clips and locked an adjustment layer above. "Ripple Delete" works but "Close Gap" does not.

As Rik already stated.

The are not really gaps as there is this AL superimposed. Does not matter if its locked or not.

The close gap function seem to be in a secure mode where you can't use it if there are clips abobe or on any other track even when locked. Feel a bit strange but that the way it is. The only "little workaround is to use the " Go To gap " in Track or in Sequence. With this you can "verify" any track or any sequence by going from gap to gap. Assign 2 shortcuts in oder to review it faster. Hope it help.
