Question

I am trying to uninstall PREMIERE PRO and not matter what I do, it won't uninstall. HELP!

I’ve tried your agent (even remote access), I’ve tried uninstalling via the SYSTEM APPS, via the CC tool app in my desktop, I’ve tried the cleanup tool, nothing works. The CC app thinks it is uninstalled but it is not as I can open it. I am on WIN 11, Premiere Por 2026. Can you HELP?

Should I uninstall the ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD? I think the problem is it. It is probably damaged?

Thanks.

Kevin, below is what I see in my CC panel. In fact, something is wrong because, as I said above, I have Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign and also Acrobat installed, but only Acrobat says OPEN.

Another bad thing this CC does is that when it updates apps it installs whole new versions and does not delete the older ones… and not always I notice this. I really don’t see an advantage for me having this CC panel, I think it only serves Adobe to monitor things. 😤 For me, I rather use the APP systems, it’s cleaner.

Thanks.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for getting back to me. I ran out of patience and installed REVO uninstaller… I don’t know if did much good as Premiere disappeared from the APP System list (finally), but I don’t seem to have gotten my 9GB back free in my computer… So, I think there is clean up that needs to happen.

  • Thus, I cannot tell which build I was using. I think I might need to reinstall it and then uninstall it? Would that clean remaining files?

  • When it was still installed = when I tried to uninstall I did not get an error message. The CC desktop tool starts the uninstall saying “Waiting”, then it shows “1%”, but then the 1% disappears very quickly and it says “Finishing”, which also disappears very quickly, so it does not uninstall -- but then it shows a button next to it saying INSTALL, as it’d had uninstalled it. (I was able to uninstall Media Uncoder, for example, and it goes through the full percentage all right, and completes the uninstall).

  • I was able to open PREMIERE totally when was still installed, while t showed an INSTALL button, not an OPEN button on CC. And if I searched within Windows, I would find it, then click on it and it would open normally. No errors. In fact, I got no error messages, anytime during this process.

  • The CC does not report Premiere Pro is uninstalled never. It simply doesn’t finish the uninstall and does say so.

  • I tried uninstalling the CC desktop tool, it does let me: it says I have other programs that need it. I have Illustrator, PhotShop, DreamWeaver and InDesign and Acrobat installed.

Yes, it seems they got out of sync, but it is not the first time. Last time I had to get an agent too. 🙄

I want to uninstall it because it is too heavy, it is taking 9.11GB off of my SSD which is quite full because of Adobe. ☹️ (It’s 2026, Adobe’s got to find a way to build the apps without increasing size so much, I cannot believe there is not a way to do it. We’ve been to the Moon already… and there is AI. Come on...). I am going to have to buy another SSD (I have a 128GB), but while I don’t, I need space. So I am taking ME and Premiere out as I don’t use Premiere often…

Thanks and let me know if you, at this point, recommend installing Premiere Pro again, in order to uninstall right after.

Hi SacredotisaDeGai,

Sorry to hear you're running into this. Let's gather a bit more information before trying more drastic steps.

Could you let us know:

  • Which build of Premiere Pro 2026 are you running? (You can find it under Help > About Premiere Pro if it still opens.)

  • When you try to uninstall, do you receive an error message or error code? If so, what is it?

  • Are you able to launch Premiere Pro normally, or does it only appear to launch because the executable is still present?

  • After the Creative Cloud desktop app reports that Premiere Pro is uninstalled, does it show an Install button or an Open button?

I wouldn't recommend uninstalling the Creative Cloud desktop app just yet. If the desktop app and Premiere Pro have gotten out of sync, we should first determine whether this is an installation database issue or an uninstall failure.

If you can also share a screenshot of the Creative Cloud desktop app showing Premiere Pro's status (Install/Open) and any uninstall error message, that will help us narrow down the cause.

Thanks,
Kevin
