The caption is exporting the top layer, not regarding if it’s hidden or not.

I have 4 layer of captions. I hide layer C1, C2 and C4, and try to export (using file - export - captions) the captions, and it export C4 instead of C3 (that is the only one not hidden).

    @binoit616,

    I think this is a bug. See this previous bug report:

    I have retested a couple times, and I never update the posts because I get odd results. Sometimes, instead of exporting only the highest numbered caption track, it always exports C1. I’m convinced that some condition or sequence of steps makes a difference, but I cannot sort it.

    The workaround is to use Export → Media (which requires you to export the full sequence or video or audio only), and the choice in the export settings for which track to send to the sidecar works correctly.

    For SRT (no help for your MCC), you can export from the 3 dot menu in the Text panel/captions tab, and it will use the caption track that shows in the captions tab.

    Here’s a post that needs updating, but most of my conclusions then still hold:

    Edit to add:

    In my tests yesterday, I looked at new projects with 3 subtitles tracks. Release 26.0.2 always got C1. Then I tested Beta 26.3.0.38, and always got C3. omg. Then I opened the Beta project in the Release version and export was C3! But opening the Release project in the Beta also exported C3. And when I went back to repeat the whole thing, I carefully ensured that I did not select/edit any captions before checking this and that….. I never could get anything other than C3. I any event, something is wrong!
