I exported gif one time now it is my default export settings WHY?

I done it once now if I want to export anything that is my default, dont matter how many time I changed it to something else it will go back to gif tell me why and how to change it because it just made 500 gb of   gifs instead of a video. I  changed the setting at least 50 times but that turning back to gif
