Question

I have a problem with LUT's in Premiere

Maybe a bug, maybe just me or maybe I missed something.

So im exporting my custom made LUT (I expect all things made within Lumetri Color will be applied)

and then I save and quit Premiere, open it up and put that newly saved LUT on a new adjustment layer but the look of my clip is not the same, somethings are missing but I can't say what.

Is there something I've missed here? I've been trying to google the problem but came up with nothing.

HSL work can't be "enclosed" in a LUT in any software. As the key is based on if/then calculations, a bit beyond "the dumbest math out there" of LUTs. And yea, that's very frustrating.

But as Matt said, you can save the Lumetri effect including that HSL key/correction as a preset, and simply drag/drop that onto clips on a timeline ... or even entire selections of clips in the Project panel.

Which is how I recommend say using chip charts to match camera sensors across a project.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Great. I'll look up how to import/apply .look onto something new.

@MindGems a LUT operates on every part of the image (also known as a "primary adjustment"). Therefore any operations in the Lumetri color panel that operate on a specific section of the image can't be represented in a LUT. HSL secondaries and Vignette are good examples of this.

You can export as a .look file instead, which is a Lumetri-specific file format that you can use in other projects and you should see the same look then as the .look file encapsulates every part of the Lumetri panel. Other applications will not understand this .look format.

Update. I think I know what the problem is but I still need help.

So it looks like my thingi in HSL Secondary does not export at all. Can I somehow export my HSL secondary to reuse?
