Take a video capture of your screen but from the moment you connect your device to see if you are setting well based on the device you are connecting and that we also need to know the model and brand, you must also tell us which port you are connecting to (USB, USB-C, FireWire, Thunderbolt, HDMI, etc.).

Do you have a dv or hdv camera atteched to your computer via firewire.

If not the Capture window is of no use to you.

If you are trying to capture your screen as in screenrecording Premiere is unable to do that.
