I need help importing gopro files in adobe premiere

I hope you all can help me but the following problem.

I have tried everything but my gopro files won't import into adobe.

When I try to import the files I get a pop up that says that this type of file is not supported.

The type of file I tried to import was a .mp4 file what seems like a normal file.

But the program won't import it. I have also tried importing the wmv files but then I only get the audio of the videos.

I dont get the actual video.

I hope someone can help me with  my problem. I have tried a lot of things already but nothing seems to work.

Some more info:

I use the latest version of the program Adobe premiere

My hp laptop is new so also the latest version and works on windows

I just bought it both so it hasn't worked before.

When the error occurs I just click okay because that's the only thing that's possible at that moment.

The message I get is this type of file is not compatible to this program.

That is not enough info we want specifics of the laptop, Premiere build and windows version.

also what specific gopro files are they (MediaInfo windows)

Are you using a trial?
